I don't know about the rest of you, but for me the Santana Drama is driving me nuts. I've heard rumor after rumor and hopefully it will all end soon.

METS: The Mets have gone from completely out of the Santana Race a month or so ago to the favorites. How the heck did that happen? It appears the Mets are willing to part with a major assortment of prospects. If this is true, it doesn't bother me. The way I look at it, the farm system is already in a poor state. Why not start over? Mets don't have to trade everything for him and its JOHAN SANTANA. Santana is the guy the Mets NEED to put them over the top. Omar needs to make this move and he knows it. And yet, I'll believe this possiblity when I see it. Santana in a Met uniform is too good to be true.
SOX: @ The Winter Meetings, the Sox were apparently "close," to acquiring Santana. I've learned to not pay much attention to any more Winter Meetings rumors after what I heard there this year. Bottom line is Sox don't NEED Santana and all they want to do is keep him from the Skanks. Sure, Santana makes the Sox unbelievable, but is it worth giving up on Lester, Ellsbury, and/or many other prospects? I don't know. Sox have what it takes to win already and they don't necessarily need to pay Santana a ton of money to help them the next 5-6 years. I obviously rather see him as a Met, and I won't discourage Santana as a Sock, but I will question it.
YANKS: I'm so sick of Steinbrenner Jr. running his mouth constantly. For the past month, it seems his opinion changes everyday. They're out of it, then they're willing to talk, then it's doubtful, then they'll be willing to take a little...it goes on and on and on. Enough already...everyone knows if Twins came back to NY and said we'll take the Hughes package, then they'll do it. Shut up Hank...no one needs to listen to you, Mr.we're done with Miss October A-rod. I'll never believe a word out of his mouth.
TWINS: The Twins are in a tough position and I don't blame them for taking some time. The Mets package is hard to turn down, but it is all unproven prospects and tough to judge. The Sox package(s) are also solid, but the Twins are hoping that Sox somehow offer Lester and Ellsbury, which won't happen. They also like the Skanks package, but they'd like more with Phil Hughes. Ultimately I think they'll have to decide with Lester and Co., Hughes and Co., and the ton of Met prospects. I don't know what way they'll go, but they may just decide to keep him and try to compete for at least the first half of the year. Ultimately, I think there will be enough pressure to trade him and it will get done before Spring Training. Then again, now the Twins may be worried about potential injury problems for Santana.
Enough rumors already! I want to see it done and I am extremely hopeful the Mets can land him. They NEED him and they can certainly afford him. Hopefully he's in Queens in 2008, but untli that I'm sick of hearing conflicting reports constantly and I'm sure many others are as well.
